- Senior Fab Procurement Manager
Role Summary
The Senior Manager, Fab Procurement is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that support Coherent’s global wafer fabrication operations.
This role leads a team of procurement professionals responsible for direct materials, capital equipment and strategic supplier relationships.
The position drives cost competitiveness, supply continuity, risk mitigation, supplier performance and operational excellence while supporting the company’s manufacturing, growth and technology objectives.
- What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies for global wafer fabrication operations.
- Lead sourcing across direct materials, capital equipment and critical manufacturing services.
- Drive cost savings, supplier innovation, inventory improvements and supply risk reduction.
- Lead supplier performance management, business reviews and improvement plans.
- Manage supplier risk assessments, business continuity and mitigation strategies.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, long‑term contracts and capital equipment purchases.
- Establish and monitor KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery, inventory and working capital.
- Partner with senior cross‑functional stakeholders and provide executive‑level updates on supplier performance and supply risks.
- Lead, coach and develop procurement team members.
About You
- 12+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain or materials management.
- Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier development and complex negotiations.
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, advanced manufacturing or a highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong commercial, analytical, financial and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics or a related field.
- Customer oriented and at ease in effectively interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent English and German language skills (oral and written) allowing efficient communication at any level of the organisation.
