We're looking for a Software Systems Engineer to help build and operate the web security capabilities at the heart of our global platform.

Your Mission

As a Software Systems Engineer specializing in Web Security, you'll help design, develop, and operate globally deployed web security services protecting organizations in more than 180 countries.

You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering, systems engineering, networking, and cybersecurity, contributing across the entire product lifecycle, from architecture and design through development, deployment, operations, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain software components for web security services.
  • Improve monitoring, troubleshooting, and observability of our web security services.
  • Investigate technical issues in development and production environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers across networking, security, cloud, and platform teams.
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

As part of your engineering journey, you'll become certified as a Mission Control Engineer, gaining hands‑on experience operating a broad range of network and security technologies.

This also includes the opportunity to join our Network Operations Center in Honolulu, Hawaii for three-month assignments, working alongside engineers who operate our global security infrastructure.

What you bring

  • Required
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS.
  • Experience working with Linux/UNIX-based systems.
  • Coding experience in one or more general purpose programming language (e. g. Python, Go, C++).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Nice to have
  • Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with cloud-native and containerized environments.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e. g. Prometheus, Grafana).
